3rd AiBeers: A Very 'Iron' Gathering

Last Thursday, September 26, we celebrated the 3rd AiBeers at Fundación PTS. It was an AiBirras very much focused on “iron”, as topics related to hardware, electronics, and productivity tools were discussed.

Topics Covered

During the meetup, participants had the opportunity to dive into fascinating subjects such as:

Talk 1: Development of RISC-V Processors

The first talk addressed the development of RISC-V processors and how the impact of Open Source on hardware development can benefit Europe’s advancement in alternative systems to proprietary ones like NVIDIA and ARM. This talk was given by Ángel and elicited a lot of questions due to its relevance and interest.

Talk 2: Electronics of the Future

The second talk was given by Almudena, who spoke to us about the electronics of the future. She showed us how her research department is developing new types of printed sensors, which no longer use silicon and employ mixed techniques. This work even has the potential to become a commercial product for measuring fetal heart rate.

Activity 3: Survey with Chatbot

As part of the third activity, which was not a talk per se, the AiBeers team developed a survey using a chatbot to find out what applications we use in our day-to-day to improve our operations. Interesting applications came up, and the most voted for was the famous ChatGPT.

Participation and Interaction

The day was full of dynamic and collaborative interactions. Attendees were able to share their experiences and knowledge, making the event an excellent opportunity for networking.

Networking

As always, the networking was the most anticipated and interesting part. New opportunities and synergies were generated, and without a doubt, AiBeers is gradually establishing itself within Granada. We hope it will soon expand beyond Granada, throughout Andalusia and the rest of Spain.

Acknowledgments

We want to thank Fundación PTS for providing the space and the necessary facilities to carry out the event. Also, a special thanks to all the attendees for their active participation and enthusiasm.

We continue with great excitement and eagerness to keep working for Artificial Intelligence and, above all, its practical utility in business and everyday life. We’ll see you at the next AiBeers to continue exploring together the fascinating world of technology and innovation.
