Experience at the 5th Ideas Factory Granada
About the Ideas Factory
The Ideas Factory is an initiative by UGR Emprendedora, designed to foster creativity and entrepreneurial spirit among students at the University of Granada. This event acts as a kind of hackathon, where participants have the opportunity to work on an idea for 3 intensive days, from its inception to the final presentation. During the process, they receive support and mentoring to develop their projects, and at the end, they present their ideas to a jury.
My experience as a jury member
For the second consecutive year, I have been fortunate to be part of the Ideas Factory UGR jury. This year, as the previous one, has been an incredibly enriching and motivating experience. The event started on Thursday 18 and concluded on Saturday 20. Although initially there were eight teams, one decided to withdraw, leaving a total of seven projects that were presented at the end of the event.
The most exciting part of the Ideas Factory is to see how participants tackle the challenges of entrepreneurship. Beyond the ideas themselves, the real value lies in the learning process and realizing how complex and stimulating the entrepreneurial path can be.
The winners
With so much dedication and talent on display in just a few days, it’s no wonder that several ideas stood out. However, there were two projects that received special recognition:
The Impronta Granada award by the Granada Provincial Council was given to Andalusiente, an innovative proposal that seeks to turn the locals of Montefrío into tourist guides, promoting the local economy and strengthening the bonds of the young population with their community.
On the other hand, the Ideas Factory award went to Bocadín, an app supported by artificial intelligence designed to help young people decide what to eat every day. The combination of a fresh, entertaining, and easy-to-understand presentation was crucial to its success.
The rest of the ideas were also promising, although it is evident that we are all at some stage of our entrepreneurial innocence.
Acknowledgments
I want to express my gratitude to UGR Emprendedora for the opportunity to be once again part of such an inspiring initiative. As an entrepreneur, I often find myself wanting to contribute more through suggestions than by asking questions. However, each edition is a learning experience, and I am already excited to participate in the 6th edition.
Lastly, it should be noted that this was the 40th edition of the Ideas Factory, a clear testament to the impact and consolidation of the project in the academic and entrepreneurial fields.
