Betabeers Granada: A meeting point for tech enthusiasts
Betabeers Granada was a monthly event held, preferably on Thursdays, where developers, designers, and entrepreneurs would gather to talk about technology and trends while enjoying some beers.
The origins of Betabeers
Betabeers was founded by Pablo and Miquel, both developers. One day, back in 2009, they noticed the absence of an event where developers could share their experience and network. That’s how Betabeers was born.
Betabeers Granada
I discovered Betabeers shortly after it began, while I was working in Madrid. From the first moment, I was fascinated. When my experience in Madrid ended and I returned to Granada, it was clear to me, we had to organize Betabeers in Granada.
I spoke with Miguel, who organized the “Iniciador” event in Granada, and he helped me find a place. Thus, Betabeers Granada was born. At the end of 2013, we celebrated the first Betabeers Granada.
Will there be another Betabeers Granada?
Before the pandemic, my free time was quite scarce. That, along with the lack of much interest, led us to quietly stop promoting it. To date, there have been 18 editions behind us. Thanks to David Lázaro for lending a hand in the last few editions.
And now? What will happen? I don’t know if it will be called Betabeers Granada or not, but I am sure that the time has come to pick it up again.
