First Impressions on Gemini, Google's New AI Model
Apple-like Presentation
This time Google has done a very good job with marketing. The landing page is very reminiscent of the apple company, and the examples… I don’t know, they seem “fake”. It reminds me of the typical cinematic videos of AAA video games… then the gameplay is something else.
Interest in the Nano Model
Not much is known about the nano model, but they say it could be capable of summarizing a meeting or even replying to WhatsApp for you. This seems very interesting to me and I want to see how it works.
API for December 13th
To access the API via Google Vertex AI, we’ll have to wait until December 13th. I hope to be able to test it that same day or in the following days.
A Look at Google Vertex AI
Google Vertex AI is a Google Cloud service that makes it easier to deploy and maintain Machine Learning models. It offers tools for model training, data preparation, custom model building, and model deployment in production, all on a unified platform.
In conclusion, I can say it “sounds good,” but it will need to be tested and the first true conclusions drawn. And of course, I don’t like at all that it’s not open source.
